In a universe of infinite possibilities, this could have happened somewhere, sometime, its always something I like to think when I see space art.

yeah thats right there is so many things we havnt seen or witnessed in space so the possibilities are endless, thats why i like creating space art making something no one had thought could be possible.

I still think the sun is too wispy but this is a much better render than the last time. I still am in love with the original concept of this piece even for a fantasy type genre of art this piece is just so fantastic and unique. Definitely a fav.

Inspired by that Arthur C. Clarke story Out of the Sun (a research outpost on Mercury detects something very strange coming out of the Sun)?

Hmm I believe the lighting on the planet should be a more of an orange colour, the shadow behind the planet should also be broader to match the diametre of the planet. The fractals branching off of the sun and extension are too wispy and plentiful it almost looks like hair. The "hand" extension from the sun looks a bit awkwardly contorted and the "thumb" is a bit too short. I also think a lens flare on the brightest section of the sun would be a nice touch. After all this criticism I'd like to end by saying this is definitely a unique piece and I love when anatomy and space are combined now. I never though anything like this could be pulled off so eloquently. The title, as meaningless as it is to the quality of the piece, really caught my attention and goes so well with the piece. I said hand and thumb in quotations because a sun can't have an actual hand or thumb.

I hope that works better. The only thing i could make is the lens flare, everything i did dint realy work.

If theres anything else please tell me.

Hmm, make the fractals coming out of the sun more fiery (something like a cloud displacement map could help) and brighten up the planet a bit more, kind of like this [link]
I like the overall idea, it just needs a bit of polishing :)

As 878952 mentioned, the lighting on the planet doesn't look right. I can't tell exactly how the planet is positioned in relation to sun and viewer but I believe there should be a crescent of light, rather than viewing the shadow side as you would if an eclipse were occurring.
The terminator is the line separating day side from night side and it's an ellipse with the minor axis pointing towards the sun. See [link] for a visual demonstration of what I'm saying.

Yes, that's an improvement, at least in my opinion. Neat and scarey image.

Nothing. Its fun and I like it. Sometimes you just stand back and leave it. Toughest thing to do. Well done.

still some edges are visible. the blue planet doesn't have a light from the sun & so looks completely separate than the whole image.
